CITIZEN CHARTER

The department apart from being with its citizens in water supply and sanitation, it expects the citizens to lodge complaints on the issues pertaining to the department. The provision for lodging compaint is provided in the department's website under grievance redressal option. The basic water supply act can be downloaded from here.

Vision under Jal Jeevan Mission:
Every rural household should have drinking water supply in adequate quantity of prescribed quality on regular and long-term basis at affordable service delivery charges leading to improvement in living standards of rural communities.

Objectives:
  • To provide potable water to the extent of 55 Litres per capita per day (LPCD).
  • To provide Functional House Tap Connection (FHTC) to every rural household, Schools, Aganwadi centers, GP buildings, Health centers, wellness centers and community buildings.
  • To promote voluntary ownership among local community by way of 5% community contribution on cost of in-village component of a water supply scheme in the form of cash and/or kind and/or labour.

Urban water supply:
Under Urban water supply, the department envisages to provide 135 lpcd to the Urban Populace, where sewerage provision is also being made.
